here's a sign, there's a sign

today there was a lot of unpacking, organizing, and such.  At the end of the day I spent some time working on something that didn't involve dust & junk - welcome signs.  Now, once I received my placement I hit up the local teacher store like always, only to find that they really had NOTHING I was looking for.  I never realized how little they have for classrooms with kids over the age of twelve!  Thankfully I decided to try a pretty awesome/ginormous scrapbook store.  Talk about success.  Well, here they are - the first is the view from the outside of the classroom.
And since the paper was double sided already, why not make something for us to see on the inside?  Oh, and I'm pretty into the fact that my classes are awesome, so I figured I would just start the year off letting them know that little fact!
And finally I started to work on the cabinets by my desk.  Still working on placement, for some reason they were quite the challenge for me today.  However, I did make this last little sign that was inspired by a conversation I had with one of my teenage cousins.  He told me once that I expect too much from people, and well, I just don't agree with that.  So, for my students, I put a little twist on things and there you go.
Tomorrow I get to continue with the fun stuff...bulletin boards.  Thankfully I have a friend coming to help me - giant butcher paper is not a one person job!

  3. What cute ideas! I teach junior high as well and I agree, there is hardly anything for middle and high school classrooms. I make my own too. : )
