might as well make them interesting to look at
well, for the first time this year I am actually planning to do a few mini-lectures
on the up-coming chapters
me talking and them listening isn't really my style
but looking at pacing, and some really DRY material we have to cover
I've decided to pull a few sections out for what my partner calls "storytelling"
hopefully my not so ordinary handout will help spice things up!
Why whiskey? Because whiskey makes everything more fun. Doy!
ReplyDeletewell, my kids were quick to comment - "why not?" - so there you go!
DeleteLove this! I wish I could do this type of visual notes organizer with my math students.
ReplyDeletethanks - the kids really loved them, I only lost a few kids that weren't quite on the same visual page as me! Hey - cheers to you for teaching math - my hat is off to you, I would have no idea where to start with that subject - especially all day!
DeleteI find it quite intriguing how you plan your lessons. I'm sure there's so sort of common element between your lessons and my math lessons, but nevertheless its interesting to see how someone does their 'thing'. Oh, and I'm a huge fan of the idea of less talking on my part and more doing on their part. Love the quirky worksheets btw!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jenn - since I never really lecture, today's change of pace was actually well received by the kids - and the conversations we got to have from these discussions were so meaningful. I'm thinking this might become a weekly endeavor of mine! Thank you for your kind words - they mean so much!
