Writing here has always been a hobby for me.  An outlet to document the little moments I find important, the classroom ideas I hope not to forget, and the days that my daughter brings me unlimited happiness.  This blog has really morphed a lot over the years, and it has only been the last year or so that I have really considered myself to be a "blogger".  I love the community of people out there that also choose to share what makes them happy several times a week.  Because I'm a mom, full time teacher, grad student, and wife, growing this blog has been a very slow process, since, well, there are just a few other things drawing my attention lately.  Even so, I can proudly say I hit a little blog milestone - 100 FOLLOWERS!  Why yes, in blog land, that is something to be happy about.  Everyday I have hundreds of people that find their way to this little web space whether on purpose or by accident, and I am so thankful to have each and every one of them!  So, if you are one of my newest readers, or have been around since the not so "pretty" beginnings, I thank you for reading, commenting, and the interest you have shown in my educated, not so domesticated journeys.

well, it is pretty much my favorite time of year

and my favorite etsy shop, Retro Menagerie has brought back their holiday prints

when decking the halls I like to change out some of the art on my walls as well

it is nice to fill those frames you have been looking at all year with something new

and the prints designed by Jaymee Srp are an excellent way to do that

my home currently has the Stacked Gifts print hanging up

yes, part of my love is due to the fact that I'm great friends with the shop owner

but the second part of my love comes from the awesomeness of the prints

a little while back I got help from my friend

Jaymee Srp of the Design Hive and owner of the shop Retro Menagerie

thankfully I had her to help me get going on E's nursery walls

because I had ideas, but no real place to start

we made a plan, got what we needed, and executed all in one afternoon

just the way I like when getting things done

and yesterday I ordered the perfect mobile - I can't wait to get it

things are really starting to come together, and I couldn't be happier

in December my best friend celebrated her birthday

(yes, I realize I'm a tad late on this post)

and I knew that I wanted to have my ridiculously creative friend to help me with her gift

so I helped with the concept

but the rest was all miss Jaymee Srp from Retro Menagerie

I was SO happy with the final product & how perfect it was for my friend

seeing as how she has a thing for books, the way I do about pyrex

I knew exactly the direction we were going to go with the print

and it seems like she liked it too - you can see here where she posted about it on her blog
